Introduction
Mira Rizki is a multidisciplinary artist from Bandung who uses sound as the primary medium in her artistic practice. Her interest stems from the process of sound formation and how experience, environment, and memory shape a person’s knowledge and auditory perception. Her work positions sound as both a personal expression and an invisible political medium. She examines how sound operates within—and often in opposition to—dominant social narratives.
In this open studio, Mira Rizki defines “disruption” as something that shakes everyday life, is layered, yet is often suppressed, silenced, or even unheard. During the open studio, Mira Rizki will seek out, listen to, and understand the chaos hidden in the cryptic stories shared among residents. The findings during this program will form part of the artistic process leading to future works; the experiences and expressions of the community are treated as living materials.
