Since its founding in 1988, Cemeti Institute for Art and Society has been committed to maintaining an independent space for artistic experimentation, critical reflection, and social engagement.

As an institution, we recognise that the sources of cultural funding carry meaning and responsibility. We therefore seek partnerships with individuals, foundations, and institutions whose values align with our commitment to artistic freedom, social responsibility, and cultural diversity.

Financial support enables Cemeti to sustain its programmes and support artists, but it must never compromise our independence, critical position, or ability to engage with complex social and political realities. We value relationships built on trust, transparency, and mutual respect, and we carefully consider partnerships to ensure they support rather than limit our mission.

Cemeti does not accept funding that conflicts with our commitment to human rights, social justice, environmental responsibility, and artistic autonomy. We believe that cultural support should strengthen the conditions for free expression, critical dialogue, and meaningful engagement with society.
